Happy Birthday to Joss-Stone.net! This site has now been online for a full year! I’m so pleased that this little site I made to show my admiration and support for the ever-talented Joss Stone has blossomed into such a success! A year ago, hardly anyone knew about Joss, but I was already telling everyone I knew to check her out. I knew that once everyone caught on that they would be just as impressed as I am and would be proud to call themselves her “fans”. And now I know that Joss, her family, and her friends all visit this site; which is all the more incentive to keep the site going strong for the forseeable future!

On Thursday, after more than a year of waiting impatiently, I finally got the chance to attend a show and meet Joss. She was wonderfully hospitable and the show was amazing! And as a treat to everyone who visits, I had Joss record a message for all of you! You can download that here.

Thank you to Joss, Sarah, and Noah for making my experience on Thursday possible. I know it’s not in the job description to go out of your way like that, so I thank you all! I had a great time and I’m already looking forward to the next show! And Joss, I will take your advice and add another section to the site so people know who I am ;)

And thank you to everyone who visits this site! I appreciate it. Please continue to visit; things will only get better from here on out!

Sony BMG is eyeing S-Curve founder and chairman Steve Greenberg for the role of president of Columbia Records Group. Greenberg and Columbia representatives declined to comment, but sources say Greenberg’s move would result in current Columbia Records Group president Will Botwin ascending to chairman of the unit.

The S-Curve roster, including multiple Grammy nominee Joss Stone and the Baha Men, would remain on the label, which has a partnership with EMI for many of its acts.

This would mark the second time this year that a Sony label has targeted Greenberg: Earlier this year, while Greenberg was still under contract to EMI, rumors swirled that he was headed to Epic as replacement for former president Polly Anthony. However, that post went to Epic GM Steve Barnett.

Hurricanes battered the East Coast. Two heavyweight presidential wanna-bes waged a brutal campaign. And Paris Hilton further explored her inner skank. OK, we know all that. What we don’t know: which 40 videos were the absolute best of the best in 2004? That’s what we’re here to decide.

It’s time again for VH1 to count down the Top 40 Videos of the year, from way back in January all the way through the holidays. This 2-hour special brings you the most niftiest videos the year had to offer, the clips that thrilled us, rocked us, and inspired us to pay tribute to them on secret VH1 altars in our attics. C’mon, you know you did.

Among the artists making this year’s countdown are U2, Outkast, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Usher, Alicia Keys and Joss Stone. You’ll hear from them, as well as industry insiders, experts and other pop culture experts. You’ll find out exactly why these 40 videos are the best of ’04. And it’s not just because we say they are. Well, OK, that’s part of it. But we also based our choices on hard data like record sales, downloads, radio air play and time spent on VH1′s weekly Top 20 Video Countdown. What do you think we are, amateurs?

So kick back, relax, and get ready for a collection of videos you’ll no doubt cherish. They’re the Top 40 Videos of 2004. Enjoy
