Joss attended the BMI Pop Awards last night in L.A. She performed a reggae-flavored “Mother and Child Reunion” in honor of Paul Simon who was presented The Icon Award. Click here to see the pics from the red carpet.

Still revered after all these years, Paul Simon was honored in Beverly Hills on Tuesday as artists ranging from former Beach Boy Brian Wilson to neo-soul singer Joss Stone sang his hits during performing rights group BMI’s annual pop awards.
Simon, 63, received BMI’s Icon Award in recognition of his “unique and indelible influence on music makers,” following in the footsteps of such previous honorees as Wilson, Chuck Berry, James Brown and Van Morrison.

Playing solo on acoustic guitar, Simon sang “Slip Slidin’ Away” for the black-tie crowd at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof has so far denied there would be such a concert, billed as Live 8.

But the BBC said it was in “discussions” with Geldof to screen the concert from Hyde Park on 2 July.

Acts linked with the concert include U2, the Rolling Stones, Sir Paul McCartney and Joss Stone.
