British neo-soul sensation Joss Stone is joining forces again with legendary songwriter-producer Lamont Dozier — who produced the “Spoiled” single off her hit “Mind, Body and Soul” CD — to look for three hot African-American male singers, ages 22 to 30, to re-create a Motown-style soul band.
Dozier — the father of Stone’s longtime boyfriend Beau Dozier — was responsible for numerous Motown hits as a member of the legendary Holland-Dozier-Holland songwriting team.

The singer, Grammy-nominated in three categories this year, is set to join such superstars as Madonna, U2, Bon Jovi, Sting and Stevie Wonder at Bob Geldof’s Live 8 concert in London’s Hyde Park July 2. She’s featured on the soundtrack of the upcoming “Fantastic Four” superhero flick with the likes of Chingy, Sum 41 and Velvet Revolver. The beauteous singer signed a contract to be the face of the Gap, replacing “Sex and the City” actress Sarah Jessica Parker, so her face and music will be all over commercials this summer. And her record label, EMI, gifted Stone with $190,000 in uncut diamonds for her birthday in April for helping its return to profit. Not bad for an 18-year-old with just two albums under her belt. – L.A. Daily News

The tracklisting for the soundtrack to next month’s Fantastic Four movie has been announced, with a diverse line up including Velvet Revolver (whose very first release was heard on the Hulk soundtrack, coincidentally), Sum 41, Chingy, Joss Stone, Ryan Cabrera, and Taking Back Sunday. Former Evanescence guitarist/songwriter Ben Moody makes his solo debut (accompanied by Anastasia) with a track entitled “Everything Burns,” which is the disc’s lead single. The soundtrack also contains a one-time project from T.F.F., a supergroup made up of Jet’s Chris Cester, Brodie Dalle of The Distillers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and Dolf de Datsun of The Datsuns. – FMQB
