Joss’ performance at “The Zone Perfect Bar: Where Music Meets Film” last week at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, was taped and will air as a special on WE cable network this spring. The 38th annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will be held on April 27-29 and May 4-6. New Orleans’ own Harry Connick Jr. has been tapped to headline the final night. Joss is 1 of more than 500 performers who have been booked to perform at the annual festival! Concerts will get underway at 11 AM and run until 7PM on more than 10 stages. In addition, there will also be food booths and craft vendors scattered throughout the grounds. She will take the stage on the second weekend, May 4-6. Babyface is hosting Where Music Meets Film, a four-night acoustic showcase to be held at Zone Bar Tuesday through January 27. Joss Stone, Sean Lennon, Daniel Powter, Joan Osborne and Kenneth Edmonds himself will perform at the session, partial proceeds of which go to the nonprofit Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. MTV.com Soulful British songbird Joss Stone spent much of the past year in Barbados and the Bahamas, where she wrote lyrics and teamed up with producer Raphael Saadiq (The Roots, Macy Gray) to work on her third album. Due on March 20th from Virgin Records, Introducing Joss Stone features numerous musical heavyweights lending their talent to the album, such as Fugees singer Lauryn Hill, rapper Common, and singer/songwriter/producer Novel. Virgin Records describes the album as “an electrifying mix of warm vintage soul, ’70s-style R&B, Motown girl-group harmonies, and hip-hop grooves.” The Divine Ms. Stone, who single-handedly wrote the album, describes it as “truly me. That’s why I’m calling it Introducing Joss Stone. (Read More) As tipped here in November, U.K. vocalist Joss Stone will return this spring with her third album, “Introducing Joss Stone.” Due March 20 via Virgin, the set was produced by Raphael Saadiq and features guest turns by Common (“Tell Me What We’re Going To Do”) and Lauryn Hill (“Music”). Other songs set to appear on the album include “Headturner,” “Tell Me What We’re Gonna Do Now,” “Tell Me ‘Bout It,” “Nothing Better Than (The iPod Song)” and “I Wish I Never Met You.” Additional contributions were provided by rapper/producer Novel (Kelis, India.Arie) and Beau Dozier, the son of Motown titan Lamont Dozier. “Introducing” is the follow-up to 2004′s “Mind, Body & Soul,” which debuted at No. 11 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 1.2 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Stone will preview new songs at two showcases in the coming weeks: Jan. 31 at Los Angeles’ House of Blues and Feb. 8 at New York’s Bowery Ballroom.
